Barred
Rock |
The Barred Rock is a variety of Plymouth Rock chicken developed in New England in the early 1800's, a cross of Dominique and Black Java varieties. They are prolific layers of brown eggs, even when the weather temperatures are colder. Their plumage exhibits narrow bars, and their broad, long, deep bodies are bred for strength and vitality. They are found all over the United States.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Janet Janette M. Kuehn |
