Coyotes (Canis latrans) range throughout North America from the east coast to the west coast and from Alaska on the north to Panama on the south. Coyotes are very flexible, they are adapting to the encroachment of humans into their environment, and thus we find that we are neighbors. This creates different reactions from different people.
One summer we were privileged to watch at least 2 or more families of 3 or more coyote puppies romp and play as they grew up on a hillside next to our home. Later on we could hear them at night as their parents taught them to hunt.
Regardless of how you feel about adult coyotes, you can't help but love these frisky, curious, soft, cuddly looking puppies (from a distance).
