The prairie can be a very romantic place. Prairie is a French word meaning meadow, grassland or pasture. There have been many songs written about it including: On The Lone Prairie, Don't Fence Me In, Home On The Range, and many more. There has also been a long running TV show called "Little House on the Prairie".
