The
Great Horned Owl (Bubo virginianus) is the best known owl in
North America. It is found in many places and instead of building its
own nest will use the nest left by other large birds such as a hawk
or a crow. The Great Horned Owl is a skilled night hunter with very
powerful talons and a very sharp bill. It feeds on rabbits, squirrels,
geese, skunks and snakes. |
