The
Great Horned Owl (Bubo virginianus) is the best-known
owl in North America. It is found in many places and instead
of building its own nest will use the nest left by other large
birds such as a hawk or a crow. The Great Horned Owl is a skilled
night hunter with very powerful talons and a very sharp bill.
It feeds on rabbits, squirrels, geese, skunks and snakes. It
is rarely seen during the day.
