Water Lily (Nymphaea spp.) Water lilies are usually grown in a pond or pool of water in pots, or rooted to the silt pond floor. Among the large, colorful, round leaves, the blooming flower grows upward and then fades. Water lilies are beautiful
in aquatic landscapes at home, business, and in natural settings.
There are about 40 species of water lily in the world, plus many hybrids and varieties. Some water lily species prefer warmth and are found in temperate and semi-tropical zones some prefer cold and are found only in northern Canada and Alaska.
