Spreckles
Organ |
The organ at Balboa Park, San Diego, California was a gift given to the people of San Diego by John D. Spreckles for the Panama-California Exposition in 1915. The organ is the world's largest outdoor musical instrument, weighing nearly 100,000 pounds. It has been said that the music can be heard up to three miles away. More than 85 years later the organ is still in good working condition and concerts are held at the organ pavilion in Balboa Park every Sunday. |
